Celebrate National Breastfeeding Month with WIC!
This National Breastfeeding Month, let’s empower breastfeeding parents and ensure they get the support they need! 💖 Because we believe that no matter where you are in your breastfeeding journey, you deserve breastfeeding help that meets your unique needs.
If you are a WIC participant, you can access free lactation support, such as peer counselors and #IBCLCs (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants). WIC also provides specialized nutrition for pregnant and breastfeeding parents, breast pumps, support groups, and so much more! Join us as we share how WIC can support you on your breastfeeding journey by tuning into our Instagram Live event where you’ll hear stories and insights from a WIC participant and WIC team member!
Our Instagram Live events offer a low-key, conversational way to connect with WIC peers and staff. You can get your questions answered in real time or watch later as an Instagram reel, at a time that suits your schedule.
The panelists for our WIC Breastfeeding Support Instagram Live event include:
Rachel August—a WIC and Breastfeeding Peer Consultant for the Washington State Department of Health.
Jehimy Benitez—a breastfeeding peer counselor with the Maryland CCI WIC Program. She is passionate about supporting new and expecting mothers, especially teens and young moms, through their breastfeeding journey. “As someone who was once a WIC baby and is now working in the program, I truly value the full-circle experience of giving back to my community.”
We hope to see you as we go live on Instagram this Wednesday, August 6th at 8pm ET/5pm PST—share this blog post with family and friends who may be looking for more information about WIC breastfeeding support!
